Application of 9kg Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher

The powder agent fire extinguisher is suitable for small businesses or buildings. These extinguishers are easier to use than others because of their lightweight point-and shoot design.

How To Use A Powder Fire Extinguisher

  1. With the powder extinguisher on the ground a safe distance from the fire, remove the safety pin and break the tamper seal.
  2. Aim the hose at the base of the fire with one hand. Don’t aim for the flames, but instead for the base moving the jet across the area of the fire to smother it of oxygen.
  3. Holding the lever in your other hand, you then start to slowly squeeze this to discharge the powder. As the fire starts to die down, you can then start to move closer.
  4. Using the entire contents of the powder fire extinguisher, make sure the fire is fully extinguished to cool down the area to prevent it from re-igniting.
